Cake or Cupcake Challenge

Creativity is the key to success as teams work together to build confection masterpieces in our Cake or Cupcake Challenge. Your group will be divided into teams to build a multi-layer cake that reflects the theme of your event. This challenge is best for groups of 12 or more people and is excellent for very large groups of 100 or more. We recommend two or more teams of 6-10 people each.

  • The event begins with a brief introduction to cake-building mechanics, frosting and piping techniques from your Simple Gourmet chef.
  • Teams will be given a number of baked and cooled cakes or cupcakes, tubs of buttercream frosting, coloring, cake fillings, piping bags and tips and other décor items.
  • Teams will have 45 minutes to build a multi-level cake/cupcake display based on a pre-designated theme.
  • Simple Gourmet staff will be on hand to offer advice and expertise.
  • Teams have 2 minutes to present their cake to a chosen panel of judges who will critique the cakes on creativity, stability, visual and verbal presentation and execution of company theme.

You may upgrade this event to include dinner service or a hearty tapas/small plates menu to be prepared by the Simple Gourmet staff and served to your guests.
